Thanks for the comments on the video format. We recorded over 3 hours of interviews at Starwest and the interviews were all rather short so that they could be more on the introduction end of things. We will definitely be getting a little more in depth at the StarEast show in May and they will be added to our educational video series. You can find many more like this one in the agile journal media center http://www.agilejournal.com/media-center

In response to Scott's post, this was edited down from what i had said, and the agile magazine controlled the questions. I went into more detail during my presentation at StarWest.
I've always found if you focus on getting your team what they need to succeed (training, tools, equipment, information), they in turn will make you look great.

Well done! Nice format...very concise and to the point. However, it would probably be more useful to practioners if the interview dug a little deeper into the answers. For example, "What are some of the challenges facing testers?" has a good answer in "It's all about the team." I agree. Good answer. But IMHO that isn't very useful. How does EA build good teams? What is the structure? Is QA integrated or are they adjunct to the software development team? What characteristics are key for successful hiring?

I appreciate the video. Please don't think I'm complaining...just offering constructive feedback for interviews in the future. Maybe the time investment doesn't allow for the deeper dive.

It is interesting to see the perspective of QA in gaming.
