ISEB Accreditation

Yeah,

So after only revising for 2 days, I've been awarded the ISEB Accreditation Intermediate Level for Software Testing.

Does anyone else think it's a bit unfair that this accreditation is so easy to attain, yet preferrable on a CV?

Doesn't make sense, however, now that I've been told I passed the exam, I'm a lot happier as I didn't even think that the exam went all that well!?

Looks like celebratory cakes are on me in the office this morning! :)

I did not mean to say it is the perfect accreditation as a tester to have, but at least a tester with that accreditation has an understanding of the basics. Along with that goes experience and (here I agree with you completely) taking part in the testing community @ e.g. STC.

I have not heard of the BBST and how much does it differ from the ISTQB Foundation certification?

(Hint: I'm way more impressed by someone saying they participate in or read STC than by ISEB. ISEB just doesn't make you stand out. Being here does.)

You won't come out of that feeling like you've done nothing much. If I saw an applicant with BBST on their CV, it'd be an instant shortlist for me.

Comment by Craig Pilgrim on July 13, 2011 at 9:59: I took my Foundation about a month ago now and was of the same opinion that it didnt go all that well, was pleasantly suprised when I found out that I had passed as well. I dislike the fact that some companies (in my experience) say they are using the accreditation as a way of narrowing down a shortlist over actual hands on experience.
