Robot Framework tables are same as of QTP...Right now i m using Selenium RC with java. I have seen the example given by you. Its basically to write a code in tabular format rather than making .java coding files. My main question is how to test UI of…
February 4
No. You don't have to code. Most of the tests are just tables like described in this example. There is IDE which simplifies the creation of test files. Robot does not have any test recorder so if you're looking that kind of tools, you have to find s…

Tarnum, See the Robot Framework and AutoIt library for it. I haven't use AutoIt, but I'm using Robot a lot with Selenium and SSH libraries. Robot is keyword driven test framework which is done with Python.

Automated Testing Tools Survey Results

The results of the Automated Testing Tools survey showed that QuickTestPro (21%) and Selenium (16%) are the most used tools. Winrunner is still popular with 9% although as many do not use any automation.

The Other section had the most votes (29%) and included Watir, NUnit, JUnit and FitNesse amongst others including custom in house tools.

As a result of over 100 responses to the survey from 600 members, I have created the Automated TestContinue

Survey Results So Far

QuickTestPro is the leading tool with 22 votes. This is no great surprise as general consensus would put this as the test tool in widest use. I am surprised that there are so few votes for other 'popular' tools such as QARunner and TestDriveGold.

Selenium follows closely with 17 votes. As this is a relative new web testing tool, this surely shows that Software Testing Club members are at the cutting edge of technology!

The largest vote is with Other at 33 votes. From the comments posted so far… Continue

Automated Testing Tools survey

Rosie has very kindly put together the Automated Testing Tools survey. I was interested to know how many people were using automated test tools and which ones they were using. If there are enough responses I think it will be worth setting up a seperate group within the club. If there is a large group of users of one tool in particular it may also be worth creating a group for that tool.

I would hope that these groups can be used for exchanging lessons learned in automation.

Hope you take the t… Continue
