I've been approached by a Digital Media Company to help out with there testing. Something I am really excited about. I have spoken to them in detail yet, so I'm not sure the exact technology (They loosely mentioned web apps, iphones, front-end and b…

I'm with you Sue, though I found that companies in Australia were more 'open' to working from home and part time work than those in Ireland. Perhaps that is because the market is slightly different (there is a big recession in Ireland so employees…

Hi Jill welcome to the club. I'm glad your excited about testing. Lots of people in the club are too. The two pieces of advice? 1) Get your foot in the door. Do the changing after..(this does not mean comprising your principles BTW). 2) Work on w…

Hi Joe, Yes, thats an interesting insight. I ran into something similar when I wanted to work part-time contract. It was very hard to find any company willing to take that on! In some places I worked full time and once they could see I was capable…

Profile Information

About Me:
My personal development lifecycle (pdlc) starts in Ireland and I'm now in my Aussie phase. I studied electronic engineering at University where I learnt the art of doing little, but effectively. Software testing choose me, when in 1990 I started conformance testing against European standards. I was hooked and have been testing since then. I spent 15 years in Australia. Its 1998, and I've returned to Ireland with husband and kids in tow, keen not to miss out on the recession.

Hi Anne-Marie,

Hope all is well with you. Thanks for checking in!

Hey Anne-Marie,

I was going to leave you a post last night to thank you for an entertaining night's reading (on your blog) but then I read Phil's post below and thought I'd best not as I didn't want to be thrown out just after I got let in!

Thanks for the complement. I suppose it has it's good and bad days, we're doing acceptance testing now so it's repetitive but when we see what some of the clients have managed to achieve with our software it is incredibly impressive.

I hope you are enjoying life in Ireland. I am based in England and would only love to go home.

Looking forward to future posts,

Thanks,

- Rob
