Michel Kraaij replied to phil kirkham's discussion Testing is like.... nothing else ?
"Actually it's: I, and not my momma, always said: "Life is like a box of chocolates. It requires #testing to see what you're gonna get". -- Michel Kraaij ;-)"

Michel Kraaij replied to phil kirkham's discussion Testing is like.... nothing else ?
"Analogies tend to have a purpose. Most of the time someone is trying to explain his/her occupation/hobby/passion (all 3 for me!!). Might the preference of using analogies differ between testers and non-testers (or people new in testing)?"

Michel Kraaij replied to Vidya B's discussion Which is better?.... ISTQB........or.......Six Sigma???
"The question might be: should you discard these jobs? When you do this, you might be just as selective as the people who put up the requirement for that specific certificate in the first place. I've done consultancy for a company which asked…"

Michel Kraaij replied to Vidya B's discussion Which is better?.... ISTQB........or.......Six Sigma???
""Globalization is making the world smaller every day, and you'll be ready..." Exactly... ready to be replace by hundreds of other testers... UNLESS, you can make the difference. And sorry, but that certificate will not make the…"

Michel Kraaij replied to Rob Lambert's discussion How many different coloured boxes are there?
""Speaking of colours, the colours for links here on SoftwareTestingClub.com are rather subtle, aren't they? Does anyone else agree?" That's just a matter of perspective. But that might be the answer you were aiming for ;-)"

"I didn't change the original source code of the game. I changed a COPY of the original source code. Get your facts straight! ;-)"

"Open and edit the source (different ways to cheat that way) and save it locally. Could be used as exploit."

Profile Information

About Me:
.Hello, my name is Michel Kraaij. I reside in the Netherlands, a small country in northern part of Europe. For the last 8 years i have been working as a test consultant in several branches (like government, financial services, online retail brance and the energy industry), taking up all sorts of roles and responsibilities. Currently i'm employed by a Dutch consultancy company called Art of Testing.

Today, i'm working as a consultant within a project team for a large international energy company. I currently perform a multi-tasking role of test consultant, (over-all) test manager and system tester. I also assist in product risk analysis, review sessions, business acceptance testing and many other activities related to quality.

The best word to describe me is by the dutch word "vakidioot". But because i can't seem to find the appropriate english translation for this word, you could best describe me as as typical "test nerd". I'm someone who wants to keep learning, innovating, exploring, discovering and improving my favorite hobby: testing. I want to learn from myself and others in becoming a better, more skilled tester. The best way of doing this is by experiencing first hand, stumbling against challenges and solutions and sharing this knowledge.

I'm in the process of enhancing my website, and even including a weblog. Check it out at: http://www.testconsultant.nl (for now still in dutch, but soon english or even multilingual).
