Seriously - you are a tester in Caribou! I stopped their once when I was in the Air Force and our C-141 broke down. In January! I have never been so cold in my life! That was a long 3 days. (I was stationed near Miami at the time)
I'm originally from Eastport. We, like you, can also see Canada - only for us it's across the bay. Still wicked cold in January. So now I live in Colorado. Still cold, but nothing like back east. I'm so moving to Key West one of these days!
Columbus is lucky in the fact that we have some really great companies. I work for Nationwide Insurance, but we have Cardinal Health, Chase, The Limited, OCLC, among others.
So what certification(s) are you looking to pusue? They are actually starting to be recognized here and some companies are beginning to require them. I am not sure if you have the amount of testers in your area that would support a QA organization but you can start one.
My Name is Ken and I am in Columbus, Ohio. I currently serve as President of the COQAA, a software quality professional organization and was wondering if you have one in your area.
Do certifications seem to be recognized there and how do organizations there feel about software testing in general?
Thanks!
