"Jim, I agree that we should be discussing "how best to approach a problem from a technical aspect". I would add though that this is only part what we need to discuss.
I want to know how, in a given situation with all of its relevant…"
"Essentially, I agree with what Shawn and Kate said.
The biggest dependencies for testing time/money are the practical quality of the software in production in relation to the quality required. That's true regardless of who is doing the…"

I’m a test project manager and consultant with 30 years experience in software development and integration. I specialize in managing large-scale systems integration tests, and I’ve managed testing on many big ugly projects for clients in banking, financial services, retail, electricity generation, telecommunications and health care. I’ve also managed testing on several troubled project rescues.
I’ve always believed in doing what works best in a given situation. I’m most in sympathy with the Context-Driven testing people, but decline to be a card-carrying or manifesto-subscribing anything. I don’t believe in best practices or cookie cutter processes, and I work with my clients to design and implement pragmatic test and test management practices tailored to their unique business challenges and risks.
