Usability testing is a bit of a mystery to me, as I can never be sure if I am bringing my own bias to bear when I am considering the end user experience for whatever app/product is being developed. I am not sure if a scientific method can be applied, or even if it should be applied. Engaging end users in my experience has led to huge conflict as the political machinations that sit behind the scenes are brought to bear and power plays are endemic!

The crux of the matter is and as far as I am concerned always going to be, what is the latest fad/fashion that can reasonably be interpreted to deliver the best way to engage an end user and hope that the underlying functionality holds them.
