Anna:

The listings are a bit rough just now, no book covers etc. Not quite sure of the process amazon use, but I've emailed them a bug report.

Rosie: I just sent an email offering that very thing to Mr Lambert for the Testing Planet... will send email to you now.

Hi Rosie. I'd be happy to do some book reviews for TTP. For that matter, you could feel free to pick any of the reviews I've already done if any look interesting to you. Just go to http://mkl-testhead.blogspot.com/ and type "Wednesday Book Review" in the search bar for all simple reviews I've done to date (simple review meaning any book review that fits into just one post. BOOK CLUB and PRACTICUM reviews are longer "deep dive" summaries, usually done chapter by chapter or via specific examples).

I'm in the process of Deep Diving 'How We Test Software at Microsoft" and I'm  starting David Burns "Selenium 1.0 Beginners Guide as my first PRACTICUM review. The first entry should be posted later today.

Anyone want to write a review of a book for the next Testing Planet?  Am sure we could get a free copy... Alan? :)

Excellent! Now sitting in my shopping cart - but I just had to nip back to add...have you noticed that on this link for the UK site, your name appears as Alan Joh Richardson:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0956733212/compendiumdev-21

But if you click on the author name link, your name in the book listing comes up as "Alan John Richardson".  How odd - it looks like they're retrieving the author name from two different sources.

Hope this doesn't count as an advert but "Selenium Simplified" is now listed on Amazon: amazon.com and amazon.co.uk.

Still available as an e-book in pdf format

Thank you Anna,am having the soft copy of 63 Pages but trying for hard copy..
The way the writer explains is simple and understandable.

And how do you like Selenium in general? Are these GUI test automation tools worth the effort?
Comment by Anna Baik on November 13, 2010 at 22:55
Yes - it's currently available as an e-book (hard copy due out soon):
http://www.compendiumdev.co.uk/selenium/

And it's really very good - I've been working through it learning Selenium and it's a gold mine of useful advice and examples. I'm planning to buy a hard copy as soon as one's available, so I can lend it to colleagues.
