Hope you are doing well. I'm planing to conduct load testing on a web service to test the time difference between receiving the request by the web service and sending the request from the web service to a desktop application. any recommendations for:
- tools that can be used
- readings or tutorials

the first 2 tools that came into my mind were - SOAP UI and the TOSCA Testsuite

both sould be very usefull for your needs
I found this to be useful when I began testing in an SOA environment.

Parasoft's SOAtest verifies application performance and functionality under heavy load. Existing end-to-end functional tests are leveraged for load testing.
