Pre SIGIST Revolution meeting (pub, food, banter)

Well, in truth it was more of a pre-SIGIST meet in the pub and and have a few beers and something to eat.

Michael grilled us on a few testing perspectives that James and he had played with a while ago, stumped us frankly. Rob was up for the challenge, I just tried to look witty and Anand was being far too sensible. My attempt to fix that with a whole pint of beer instead of a half only had a mild affect.

At the pub quiz we frankly rocked but the bar staff member who was running the quiz was struggling to even pronounce some of the words!

Michael seemed to understand what the heck he was talking about but at one point we realised answers were written out of sync, I resolved this by cheating and looking at others answer sheets ;p Sadly we didn't win.

10.00pm rolled around and I headed out for home via the joy of London Underground.

Looking forward to the fun of SIGIST tomorrow, get ready to be challenged!

Mark.

Just found another photo... this one looks like a 'caption competition entry'. Random prize of some random sort for the best caption :)

Picture 1: Anand Ramdeo, Rob Lambert , Rob's boss(?)
Picture 2: Rob's Boss, Umm...American Lady (Joan?), Steve Reid (SIGIST), Michael Bolton
Picture 3: Rob Lambert, Rob's boss(?), Dorothy

Michael Bolton was of course the star of the show, the person I think is Joan has presented a number of times at the STAREast and West conferences and Dorothy was also encouraging us to go the the STAR conferences.

Rob Lambert set up the 'Testing Revolution UK South' group here, Anand works with Komal on www.testinggeek.com and has done a number of presentations at SIGIST centered around Selenium.

"Joan" is Fiona Charles. "Rob's Boss" is Anthony Gardiner. "Steve Reid" is actually Stephen Allot.

For those that don't know - once you attend a SIGiST meeting you can borrow from the library that is kept there - for free.

Crazy eh?

If you're an author you can get 100 Karma Points for donating 2 or 3 books to the library. No really ;]

Just remember when you borrow a book you're meant to return it by the next SIGiST or you lose 100 Karma Points and fail to level up.
