I was asked a question by a co-worker during our latest Release Cycle. He told me that he found it difficult to re-test the same feature multiple times (through multiple builds) using Exploratory Testing. He wanted to know if I had any ideas of what people do. I told him that I really never have a problem with re-testing the same feature because if I run out of testing ideas or areas to explore I either move elsewhere in the program/application/system for a while, dig further into the layers of the program, or find some way to de-focus. Because I am involved in multiple products/projects he felt that I did not understand his dilemma. So I bring the questions to you:
If you primarily test one application/system/product, and do so with Exploratory Testing, what do you do to keep the fresh ideas flowing, especially if you are designated to a certain feature area?
