Heard about utest.com?

Hi Folks,

UTest.com seems too good to be true. I registered on their website 2 weeks back and received a newsletter today stating that their pilots have been launched and that testers can login on their site and start testing. Well, I did not see a 'sign in' option anywhere on their site. They just have a 'Join in' option which does not help as I have already joined !

Anyboy has registered with uTest? Please share your views.

I registered about a month ago, and I didn't receive any e-mail / newsletter today informing me that the pilot has been launched. So you're already ahead of me.

Based on your post, though, it sounds like they have a lot of issues to work through!

Thanks for keeping me posted. Well, I have been receiving applications to test but the whole problem is I am just not sure if I should go ahead or not ! I mean there are so many mixed views about this whole concept ! Unless I know this is for real, I would not want to jump into it.
I did post a query on qaforums.com (i am a regular visitor) of this forum and I respect the folks who run this website. They are all veterans and I am very very eager to know their views on uTest. So far I have not received any replies and I am waiting...

1. The UTest model helps decreased off-shore testing
2. You learn some new testing techniques by working amongst many other testers
3. You learn a new model of testing

You can be part of it...The most you're going to lose is a few hours or days testing, right? Through that you'll have your own opinion! ...and if it's successful you can say you are a part of that success. :); ▶ Reply to This

Thanks for sharing your view. I never looked at it that way. 'Work from home' jobs almost always make me think twice. What if this is a scam..etc

The way I tried to research: Googling of course. The other thing I tried was logging onto uTest and looking at tester's profiles. My intention was to write to them and ask them if this is really working for them. But there is no way to know a tester's email/contact details on uTest's website.

But well, yes, let me give this a try and I will keep you posted.

My points are all "What if", anything is possible.. What if.. UTest allows companies to choose testers by region and those companies choose to keep it local?

"Are you guys that hard up for cash?"... No, for me, it's not about the money, my interest is the experience.

"How about setting time aside for reading and keeping abreast with technology." ...The time is already set aside.
